She has been designing needlework professionally for 25 years and began teaching crochet 6 years ago. Introduction to Tunisian Crochet
Tunisian crochet, also called afghan stitch, is enjoying renewed popularity and it isn't just for afghans! Everything in Tunisian crochet starts from the simple stitch you will learn. Explore traditional cross stitch on a Tunisian base and intarsia Tunisian where the color changes are worked as you go as well as Tunisian knit and purl. Learn two methods for working the cross stitches on a Tunisian base including one that is nearly invisible from the back side. Tunisian Entrelac - To Felt or Not: In the Round
Tunisian Entrelac creates a fun patchwork-look fabric but requires no sewing! As a plus you can use a regular hook rather than a long Tunisian hook. It's really quite easy to create this small bowl as you learn to work complex-looking diamonds and triangles. Tunisian creates a sturdy fabric allowing your bowl to stand on its own as is or make it oversize and felt it at home for a different look.
